16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM
AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign is an international campaign to raise awareness of the prevalence of gender-based violence and to promote effective strategies for prevention. This campaign is held every year from November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10th (International Human Rights Day).
Gender-based violence is any act of violence against a person based on their gender identity or gender expression. This includes physical, sexual, emotional, and psychological abuse, as well as financial, cultural, and structural forms of oppression. Gender-based violence is a global issue, and it affects people of all ages, races, sexual orientations, gender identities, and abilities.
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign works to raise awareness of the issue and to create dialogue around it. The campaign also calls for governments, organizations, and individuals to take action to end genderbased violence. This includes fighting for legislation that protects victims of gender-based violence, providing resources to those affected by gender-based violence, and creating safe spaces for survivors to speak out about their experiences.
The campaign also works to create a more inclusive society. It encourages people to challenge gender stereotypes and respect women. However, with the ending of the campaign in 16 days, we must infuse the remaining 349 days of the year with impactful Action.
